BEETOPIA
“Capitalism is incompatible with planetary survival”
Jean-Jacques Régibier
Humankind, as all living beings, is part of an ecosystem. As humans, our existence and ability to live in prosperity depend on several services provided by organisms, land, water and nutrients which the ecosystem hosts. This structure is necessary for the sustainability of both the environment and all living beings, including humans.
Day after day, the climate crises and the problems created by the use of fossil fuel-based energy systems make the necessity of economic systems to be based on renewable resources and energy systems apparent.
Achieving global nutrition targets depends on efficient farming under predictable conditions and our ability to cope with extraordinary natural disasters. In our world, where 820 million people live below the hunger threshold, decreasing agricultural productivity due to the increasing climate uncertainty and the fact that food prices are in direct proportion to the use of fossil fuel based energy systems are important issues. Moreover, both our underground and surface resources that we obtain from nature are rapidly depleting.
Beetopia is a dream of an egoless world ruled by females where individuals become a single, perfectly functioning organism, striving for a peaceful and sustainable global civilization where human rights are no longer mere written declarations but a way of life. Beetopia allows the use of all goods and services without needing money, credit, barter or any other medium of exchange. It accepts all the resources of the world as the common heritage of the humankind and in its culture, not only sees age-old insufficiencies such as war, poverty, hunger, debt, environmental degradation and unnecessary human suffering avoidable but unacceptable.
