SI PURE SENZA TUTTI I COMFORT
We are a collective of young artists, architects and curators of different backgrounds.
We met in Venice at the beginning of season 2023, conveyed by the common work in the artistic-cultural field, as well as by post-university precariousness.
Living on the island has projected us into a new dimension, forcing us to question the usual housing dynamics, and its economic, affective and imaginative ramifications, given the structural uniqueness of the place.
Starting from this comparison, it was born si pure senza tutti i comfort (yes without all the comfort).
The exhibition reflects on the living condition of the Venetian lagoon and its peculiar contingencies, adopting a critical-ironic approach, and developing a chorus of narratives and alternative devices. Through an ecology of languages that include installation methods, illustrations, performances and participatory practices, the exhibition will spread inside and outside the exhibition space.
The walls and a central structure will be inhabited by the illustrations of imaginary houses by Raffaele Capasso, and analog collages by Angelo Lavanga and Leonardo Vitti.
Some architectural illustrations related to the factory of the urban-social fabric of Venice will be made by Caterina Mattiolo and Michela Mondino, through the study of the devices necessary for the common survival in the homes of the city.
The work of Giorgia Pinzauti resumes the format of the newspaper news on the newsstands, entrusting the creation of illustrated affiches in an absurd-sarcastic key to a series of artists related to Venice.
Finally, in selected moments of the exhibition, Flavia Criscione as a performer, will be present in the space as a false cultural mediator. The performance Guided tour of the Museo Dell'Archeofuturismo will narrate the space of the exhibition and the works themselves, as speaking from a future time. In this temporal projection the ecological collapse and the capitalism of the last wave will have sunk the ancient city of Venice, and contemporary uses and housing problems will appear, in comparison, as enviable comforts.
Moreover, during the four weekends of the opening period of the exhibition, workshops, performances and video projections will be organized to reflect on the theme of the exhibition and to make the visitors participate, the very subjects of the city’s uncomfortable living.
