In the Chaos of Memories
The title of the exhibition, In the Chaos of Memories, is taken from Walter Benjamin's essay Unpacking My Library (1931), in which the author writes: "If it is true that every passion borders on chaos, that of the collector borders on the chaos of memories.” The theme of memory-linked collecting is at the heart of the Salonistes project (an art name by Orseola Barozzi and Chiara Zanella). Both Venetian, both with a humanistic-artistic background, passionate about antiques, art and collecting; creators of a refined site-specific yet also global format.
